The Mockingbird Boys Book Group selected this book in February because they love all of his other books, such as the Mortal Engines Quartet. Yes, this is another story about King Arthur but it is completely reworked, and refreshing in its approach and storyline. High School and Up

Kirsten Cashore's Gracelinggraceling book cover

This is one of the most brilliant first books by a new author I ever read. The novel is full of feisty characters, who are fresh and full of life. Kasta and Po are genuinely unique characters. Cashore has established a fascinating landscape with political intrigue, and dangerous villains, all recast with new eyes and a vision for the future. The second book, Fire, will be released in October 2009, with another cast of characters, as Cashore further alters and grows her universe, which we the reader, deeply care about and want to learn more about with each additional chapter.
